What every actor needs to know: From Brian McCulley AEC Studios, much more than just an acting workshop!

I have been training actors for over 20 years, and have had some great successes. Many of our actors have gone on to have great working careers in the TV and FILM industry and are financially independent. I have worked as an acting coach, talent manager, talent developer, and currently as a working director and producer. The most important thing I have learned is that acting workshops are ineffective in building acting careers. Joining an acting workshop is fun and can teach you basic acting skills but it takes so much more to prepare actors for an acting career.

Actors in today's world need to understand how to become a great actor as well as, how to become a professional artist. You must also work to apply their knowledge, not just run scenes in a workshop. Actors must learn to collaborate and have time on real sets, work on real projects for the market not just pretend projects in a classroom. You must meet other industry professionals that can promote your career and build your own path to your success not just talk about plans but create them and live as an actor more and more each day until you become the artist you always wanted to be. You must see yourself on the big screen in projects you acted in and helped create and be with a family of actors that are all working toward the same goal. You need to be a part of real film festivals and have a chance to learn all the in's and out's of the TV/FILM business. You need to be able to work with real directors and producers and get real-life experience.

Here at AEC STUDIOS, we offer all this and more. With our advice and consultation, you can start your real acting journey, and if it's time to move to Los Angeles you can join our program there. The AEC coaches are working professionals and work as directors and producers who travel between Denver and Los Angeles each month so when we say, so much more than an acting workshop, we mean it. You should come in for free the first time and meet your new acting family and start building your future as an acting artist.
